Still Life with Fish, Bread, and Kettle
Luis Meléndez (Spanish, 1716–1780), c. 1772.

Using it on a cover
The print file prints up to 11.3 x 8.1 in at 300 ppi — enough for a full 6 x 9 in front cover. Wider than a 6 x 9 cover: crop about 53% of the width, or use it as a wraparound across back and spine.
About the work
During the 1760s, after painting portraits and portrait miniatures with his father, Meléndez began to specialize in still lifes. Active mainly in Madrid, he is regarded as the finest Spanish still-life painter of the 18th century, but he spent much of his life in poverty.
