From a Grieving Mother's Heart
When Terri Ann Leidich's twenty-year-old son was suddenly killed in a vehicle accident, she was thrown into the roller coaster agony of grief. Adapted from the journal she kept through the experience of her horrendous loss, this book is a roadmap for parents who have lost children, as well as for those who are on the sidelines, watching the agony of someone they care about and not knowing what to do or how to help. Terri Ann's ability to put emotions and experiences into words that everyone can understand and relate to can shine as a beacon of hope and understanding during a time of excruciating pain. |

“From a Grieving Mother’s Heart by Terri Ann Leidich is a mother’s journal after the death of her son. What does one feel when awakened with a telephone call that informs her that her son has been in an accident? Only twenty years old, Terri’s son’s short life was ended while on a trip to McDonald’s, thus beginning his mother’s grief. From having to say goodbye, to the funeral, to the days that lay ahead, Terri’s life was changed. Yes, she believes in God and knows her son is in a better place, but she can’t help question why God chose to take her son from her. From celebrating his birthday with friends, to visiting his grave as often as possible, to wondering how the man who hit her son got away with the things he has done, Terri has a hard time living with her grief even though the rest of the family moves on. Through ups and downs, pain and laughter, she manages to get through it.
This is a powerful story in which the author takes the reader on a journey of struggling with the grief that has left her heart with an empty space. Only someone who has gone through such an ordeal can understand what she went through. With such beautiful poetry throughout the book, one cannot help but feel the torment and grief that the mother went through. If you know someone who has gone through this, then I would highly recommend this book as a gift. Not only will this help her to survive, as did Terri, it will make her whole again. It’s a beautiful book.”

“This book is a wonder! Even though it addresses a tough subject, the writer takes you on a real, raw, and honest journey through grief. Only someone who has actually walked that road can truly understand the feelings, emotions, and pain that come with it. Ms.Leidich shares her real emotions throughout the ordeal of losing her son and how her life changed. What a great read!”
“I have started reading your book, From A Grieving Mother’s Heart… so powerful, Terri! I have to read it in small doses. It takes me right back to the day. It’s like I read a day, and then I have to stop and write for awhile. I have a hard time describing how it moves me. It is difficult but in a good way. It makes me want to travel back in time and wrap my arms around you to comfort you and myself. It says to me that I am not alone, and there is someone out there who experienced and felt everything I have. WOW… It is just powerful the way it affects me.”
“Beautifully written heartbreaking look into a grieving mother’s heart! Definitely a tear jerker. I personally have not lost a child but lost both parents. One at age 11 and the other at age 20. I remember how hard it was and how different coping with each one was. I can only imagine the pain you must have gone through and still do on a daily basis. I know even to this day the smallest thing triggers a memory from so many years ago. I think anyone that reads this book will be deeply moved by it and I wish the author the strength and love to cope on a daily basis! Thank you so much for sharing your heart and feelings!”
